Hoani Langsbury speech - Te Uru launch

Te Uru was officially launched at Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka | University of Otago on 13 October 2026. A crowd of over 100 from across our community gathered to support Te Uru’s kaupapa/reason for being, connect with each other, and share their sustainability-related priorities with us.

There was excitement in the air and such a willingness to engage.

At the event, Te Uru Advisory Group Chair Hoani Langsbury MNZM spoke. His speech was powerful and a call to action. A number of attendees requested a copy of his notes. Kā mihi nui/thank you so much Hoani for being willing to share your wisdom with a wider audience.
